Staying in Cadgwith

The Cadgwith Cove Inn is the heart of the village—over 400 years old and full of maritime history.
• Sea‑view rooms, some en‑suite, all refurbished in 2024.
• Fresh seafood served daily, often caught by local fishermen the same morning.
• Lively cultural nights including folk  (tuesday) and shanty singing (Friday).

What Makes Cadgwith Cove Special?

• Authentic fishing village: Boats are still winched up onto the shingle beach, and the daily catch often ends up on local menus.
• Thatched cottages & narrow lanes: The village feels like a step back in time, with traditional architecture built from local serpentine stone and cob.
• Folk & Sea shanty culture: Every Tues its Folk Night and Friday night its the World Famous Sea Shanties evening,  locals gather at the Cadgwith Cove Inn to sing traditional Cornish songs—an experience that defines the village’s character.
• Dramatic coastal scenery: From the cove you can walk to landmarks like The Devil’s Frying Pan, a collapsed sea cave forming a huge natural arch.

Beaches & Things to do

• Cadgwith Cove Beaches : A small shingle beach right in the village—great for watching the fishing boats. The beach is split in two. The accessible beach with the winched fishing boats from the small local fleet isvery close to the pub. The swimming beach – sand & shingle is down some steps. With clear water, it is     splendid for swimming, snorkelling, rock pooling and diving. It’s worth noting that dogs allowed all year on the Cadgwith east beach, however there’s a seasonal dog ban on the west Cadgwith beach from 1st July to 31st August (10am to 6pm).
A little further round the cliffs is the “Devil’s Frying Pan” a 200ft hole in the cliffs where a cave collapsed. This is a natural blowhole where waves crash on the rocks and spray upwards.

• The Todden: A rocky outcrop used for swimming in calm weather.
• The Old Cellars Cafe, open daily from 11am – 3pm
