"Don't forget the sleeping bag!"
Three very cold nights, unseasonal for May, showed the room to be lacking in double glazing, and draughty, and the quilts to be summer weight only. The convector heater did not help that much in the evening, but we switched that off at night. The shared bathroom/toilet was equally cold, if not colder, but improved when I managed to shut the window. The staff were friendly and pleasant: but since the place is now sold, maybe the new owners from June will try to improve the rooms? Read less

Good breakfast. Dinner was good too.
Dislikes:
I asked about any car parking facilities near the hotel but could not understand the answer given. The car park was a 10 minute walk up the valley, there was no real access for the car to drop cases.

"Shabby, tired and 'doggy' with a scruffy tarpaulin sunshade but convenient for the coastal path."
The communal corridors, dining/breakfast room were grubby, cold and badly lit. The bedroom was pokey which could have been improved with more imaginative storage but the bed was clean and the curtains were fresh looking. The dog hairs on the carpet (from a previous occupant) were there for the 5 nights of our stay (we had no dog) and the proprietor did not make himself known to us until the 5th day of our stay when we had a problem which needed his attention. Everywhere poorly maintained. Read less

The English breakfast was very good. It was conveniently situated for coastal path and other places of interest on Lizard.
Dislikes:
Early on our 3rd morning, scaffolding was errected outside our bedroom window. We had not been informed or warned of this. We were unable to open the curtains or window for 2 days.

"Indifferent attitude of some staff spoilt the visit, Result left day early, great location."
Nice greeting on arrival, some of the staff's attitude let the place down, very poor meal one night total indifference from staff, for a place featured recently in major TV series expected a daily fresh fish selection to be available on menu, but no! Decided to leave a day early despite already having paid for accommodation and food, shame as Cadgwith is a magical place, but if I visit again I will stay in a cottage and cook my own fresh seafood Read less

Overall rating: 4.2 out of 5
Our room was at the top of building with en-suite facilities and a sea view. The room was nicely refurbished with a very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. The atmosphere in the bar in the evening with the Cadgwith Singers was magical. Very friendly staff. We cannot comment on Value for Money as we were given this as a birthday present so have no idea what it cost.
